On the afternoon of December 21st, the fourth Fudan Zhongshan Patent Salon was held in Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University. The theme of this salon was "Medical-Industrial Integration, Commuting in Both Directions", aiming at promoting the deep integration of medicine and industry and jointly depicting the future blueprint of medical innovation. Just as General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized during his inspection in Shanghai earlier this month, "Focusing on the important mission of building an international center for scientific and technological innovation, with scientific and technological innovation as the guiding force", the strong collaboration between medical enterprises this time will further accelerate the medical-industrial integration, laying a solid foundation for the construction of Shanghai International Medical Science and Technology Innovation Center and the National Medical Center.

Fan Jia, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, Zheng Ning, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Shen Kang Hospital Development Center, Kong Yuanzhong, director of Development Promotion Division of Shanghai Intellectual Property Office, Li Jia, director of Biomedical Industry Division of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economic Informatization, main inventors of innovation achievements, well-known experts in intellectual property field and heads of more than 60 enterprises attended the meeting.

Fan Jia, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, signed on-site joint contracts with the transferee enterprises of 20 transformation projects on behalf of the hospital. The 20 contracted projects cover liver cancer, gastric cancer, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and other diseases, which are the latest research results of the expert team of Zhongshan Hospital in recent years.

The academician Fan Jia said that scientific and technological innovation is a national strategy and the lifeline of high-quality development of public hospitals. It is the orientation of Zhongshan Hospital and the expectation of the country to become a world-class innovative and intelligent modern hospital. Zhongshan Hospital has always encouraged medical staff to integrate scientific research thinking into clinical work. Being a "research-oriented physician" and a "physician-scientist" who understands both clinical and scientific research is the requirement of Zhongshan Hospital for every doctor. The signing of this contract is not only the beginning of the project, but also the starting point of the future innovation journey, which indicates that the cooperation between medical research and industrial development has entered a closer stage.

He said that Zhongshan Hospital focused on the layout of Shanghai's biomedical industry, mobilized and brought into play the resource advantages of both sides, and jointly built a platform for innovation and transformation of medical enterprises, which promoted the research and development of medical technology and the transformation and application of clinical research.
